It's all one Live Arts and Philly Fringe Festival, I know. But it takes an extra effort to stay on top of what's happening west of 30th Street. And a lot *is* happening. Post your recommendations here.
By the way, there is indexing online for the West Philly venues and performances, but you have to do a little drilling down to get to it. Or you could use this handy url as a partial shortcut:
www.livearts-fringe.org/2005/t...ues.cfm
(Next year, IMHO, West Philly should appear in the dropdown menus of the main menu bar.)

Re: Fringing Left of Center
Wed, August 24, 2005 - 11:30 AMAnd I will lead with a recommendation for the first Saturday, Sept. 3 ....
PDC Presents Whores, Pigeons and Other Things of Beauty:

This ambitious, road-tested collaboration should be edgy and challenging. I can recommend it in advance based on my appreciation of the playwright, Naima Lowe, who is a relatively recent graduate of the program at Brown, and whose writing is daring, poetic, and worthy of wider recognition.
This show will be performed only twice. Only on that day. At 4pm and 9pm. If you're going to spend a day fringing Left of Center, that Saturday might be a good one. Other shows playing nearby on that day include:
Planetary Enzyme Blues (The Cathedral)
Maids X 2 (at International House)
The Adventures of Trixie Little & The Evil Hate Monkey (World Cafe)
Patio Plastico (Cinemagic)
Black & White (Ellen Powell Tiberino Memorial Museum)
